I have just tried my new Rhino Camera Gear Evo Slider and Rhino Motion and have to say that it is superb. A little confusing at first as there was no mention of the need to update the firmware package but once I had worked this out the full range of control and awesome ability of this kit became apparent. The kit is superbly built and light with the 42" carbon Evo rails (24" rails are also available) and is very well thought out with minimal cables and very intuitive design features throughout the entire system. Working out the controls is a breeze and the package can be set up and operated without any need to refer to any instructions. Comes with a very useful (but heavy) protective case. UK buyers need to ensure that the kit comes with a sufficiently long camera control cable or extension cable which I had to source directly from Rhino in the US. Battery life is a claimed 7 hours constant and I have no reason to doubt that, it also has mains power option. Recharging to full takes around 3 hours and you can use back up portable power sources. The Rhino site gives a huge amount of technical and practical information and having researched all the slider options in this price range and lower it was clear that this was the set up I needed. I didn't buy the Rhino Arc at the time but will be getting one as I think this will add an awesome element to time lapse and video footage. A really great piece of kit designed by guys who clearly understand a film makers needs. Available in the UK from the guys at Wex Photographic I highly rate this slider and am confident in recommending it to anyone looking to bring a new dimension to their film making. It isn't cheap at around £1300 for the basic package without Rhino Arc which is an additional £375, but quality never is and I think this is a genuinely good investment of quality kit.
